Terms of Service · Updated October 21, 2026

The terms for using Cherry Blossom.

These terms are the agreement between you and Cherry Blossom. Please read them before you create an account or pay for a plan.

Ces conditions sont aussi offertes en français.

1. Who we are and how you agree

Cherry Blossom("we", "us") runs the website and the editor at trycherryblossom.com. Our address is PLT, Université Laval, local 0314, Québec, Canada.

You accept these terms when you create an account, use the editor, or buy a plan. If you use Cherry Blossom for a company or another organization, you accept them for it, and you confirm you have the authority to do so. How we handle personal information is in our privacy policy, which is part of these terms.

You must be at least 16 to use Cherry Blossom.

2. The service

Cherry Blossom is a schematic and PCB editor that runs in your browser, with an AI assistant called Sakura. It comes in these plans:

  • Free ($0) is the whole editor, used by hand, without the AI.
  • Pro ($20 a month) and Ultra ($140 a month) add Sakura. Pro allows 600 AI actions a day and 4M credits a month. Ultra allows 4,800 a day and 32M credits a month.

Yearly prices and the full comparison are on the pricing page. The product is young and changes often. We may add, change or remove features. We do not promise the service will always be available or free of errors, and there is no uptime commitment. If we remove something that is a main reason you pay for a plan, you can cancel and your plan runs to the end of the period you paid for.

3. Your account

  • Give accurate details when you sign up, and keep them current.
  • Keep your login secure. You are responsible for what happens under your account, including pay-as-you-go usage.
  • An account is for one person. Do not share it.
  • Tell us right away at dev@trycherryblossom.com if you think someone else has got into it.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • break the law, or use Cherry Blossom to design something illegal or something whose main purpose is to hurt people
  • upload or design anything that infringes someone else's rights, such as copyrighted or confidential designs you have no right to use
  • attack, overload or probe the service, or get around its sign-in, its rate limits or its plan limits
  • use bots or scripts to access the service, except through the API the editor itself uses
  • copy, decompile or reverse engineer the service, except where the law allows it
  • resell or share access to Sakura, or use it to build a competing AI product
  • upload malware, or use Sakura to produce spam or anything meant to deceive people

If you break these rules, we may limit, suspend or close your account (see section 15).

5. Your designs

You own your designs, projects and files, and the messages you send Sakura. We do not claim ownership of any of it.

You give us a licence to store, copy, process and display your content, and to send it to the service providers that help us run Cherry Blossom, only so we can provide the service to you. The licence is worldwide and free of charge, and it ends when your content is deleted, apart from copies that remain in backups until they expire.

What Sakura produces for you is yours to use, as far as the law lets anyone own it. Other people may get similar results from similar requests, so we cannot promise a result is unique.

We don't use your designs or your chats with Sakura to train our own models. To answer you, Sakura sends your prompts and the relevant design data to third-party AI providers, who process it under their own terms and may keep or use it as those terms allow. We can't control or guarantee their practices. If that matters to you, don't put confidential or export-controlled designs in a request to Sakura.

If you send us ideas or feedback, we may use them freely, without owing you anything.

6. Check every board before you build it

Sakura is an AI, and it makes mistakes. It can pick the wrong part, wire a pin to the wrong net, or leave out something the circuit needs. The editor's design checks catch many problems, but not all of them.

Check every design before you send it to a fab or build it, whether you drew it or Sakura did. We do not promise that a board made with Cherry Blossom works, meets your requirements, is safe, or complies with any standard or law. You are responsible for what you manufacture, sell or use.

7. Third-party part data

Where Cherry Blossom shows you part data from a third party, such as a component supplier's record or a manufacturer's datasheet, that data stays under its owner's licence. Part data from the KiCad libraries is licensed under CC BY-SA 4.0, with an exception that lets you use the parts in your own designs, closed and commercial ones included, without that licence applying to your design.

We pass this data on as we find it and cannot promise it is correct or current. Check a part against the manufacturer's datasheet before you rely on it. Links to other sites, such as a supplier or a fab, take you to services we do not control.

8. Our software and name

The service, its software and the Cherry Blossom name and logo belong to us or our licensors. While you follow these terms, we give you a personal, non-exclusive right to use the service. That right ends when your account closes.

9. Paid plans and billing

Paid plans are billed through our payment processor. You pay the price shown on the pricing page when you buy, in US dollars, plus any tax that applies. Your bank may add its own fees.

  • Subscriptions are charged in advance, monthly or yearly, and renew automatically at the end of each period until you cancel.
  • You can cancel at any time under Account, then Billing. Your plan runs to the end of the period you paid for, then your account moves to the Free plan. You keep your projects.
  • If a payment fails, we may move your account to the Free plan until it is paid.
  • If we change the price of your plan, we tell you at least 30 days before it applies to you. The new price starts at your next renewal after that, and you can cancel before then.

10. Pay-as-you-go usage

Pay-as-you-go (also called on-demand) usage lets you keep using Sakura after you use up your plan's credits. It is available on Pro and Ultra, and it is off until you turn it on from the Usage page of your account.

When you turn it on, you decide how much to use, and you accept that you can use as much as you choose, up to the monthly limit you set. You agree to pay for all of that usage. It is billed at the end of each monthly period, in arrears, on your next invoice.

  • Credits past your plan's allowance cost $5 per 1M credits.
  • You set a monthly limit on what pay-as-you-go usage can cost. It starts at $50, and you can raise it to $1,000.
  • When you reach your limit, pay-as-you-go usage stops until your monthly usage period resets. The limit is checked before each request, so the last request can take you slightly past it, and you pay for that part too.
  • You can lower your limit or turn pay-as-you-go off at any time. The change applies to usage from then on. Usage you already had is still billed.

11. Refunds

No refunds, to the extent permitted by law. That covers subscriptions, part-used billing periods, unused allowance and pay-as-you-go usage.

If you are a consumer in the EU or UK, you may have a legal right to withdraw from a subscription within 14 days of buying it. To use it, email dev@trycherryblossom.com within those 14 days. Any refund follows that law, which can deduct the part of the service you already used.

Pay-as-you-go usage is different: each AI request is a service performed in full the moment it runs. Usage you have already used is never refunded, including under a withdrawal right.

12. No warranty

To the extent the law allows, Cherry Blossom is provided "as is" and "as available". We give no warranty that it will meet your needs, run without interruption, be free of errors, or that its output or part data is correct. Consumers keep the legal warranties their law gives them.

13. Our liability

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, lost profits, lost data, or the cost of boards, parts, assembly or fabrication, including boards made from a design that had a mistake. Our total liability to you for anything arising from the service is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.

None of this limits liability that the law does not let us limit, such as liability for intentional or gross fault, or for injury to a person. If you are a consumer in Québec, the European Union or the United Kingdom, these limits apply only as far as your consumer law allows.

14. If you use Cherry Blossom for a business

If you use Cherry Blossom for a business, you will cover our reasonable costs if someone makes a claim against us because of content you uploaded or because you broke these terms. This section does not apply to consumers.

15. Ending your use, and deleting your account

You can stop using Cherry Blossom at any time. Cancel a paid plan first, as described in section 9.

To delete your account, email dev@trycherryblossom.com from your account's email address. There is no delete button. We delete your account and projects within 30 days and tell you when it is done. Download your projects first (in the editor, Export, then Project file), because we cannot recover them afterwards. What we keep after deletion, and why, is in the privacy policy.

We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, or when the law requires it. Where we can, we tell you first and give you a chance to fix the problem and download your projects. If we close an account for any other reason, we give you at least 30 days' notice and refund the unused part of any period you paid for.

Sections 5 to 8 and 11 to 18 still apply after your account closes.

16. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The date at the top shows when they last changed. For a change that matters to you, we email you at least 30 days before it takes effect. The email quotes the new or changed terms and the old ones, says when they take effect, and reminds you that you can refuse them by closing your account before then, at no cost. If you keep using Cherry Blossom after that date, the new terms apply.

17. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of Québec and the federal laws of Canada that apply there. The courts of the judicial district of Québec can hear any dispute about them.

If you are a consumer, you also keep the protection of the mandatory laws of the place where you live, and you can bring a claim in your local courts. Nothing in these terms makes you go to arbitration or gives up your right to a class action.

18. General

  • These terms and the privacy policy are the whole agreement between you and us about the service.
  • If a court finds part of these terms invalid, the rest still applies.
  • If we do not enforce a term straight away, we can still enforce it later.
  • We may transfer these terms to a company that takes over the service. You may not transfer them without our written agreement.
  • We are not responsible for delays or failures caused by events outside our reasonable control.
  • A French version of these terms is available at /fr/terms.
