The editor
Working together
Share a project by email and edit it with other people at the same time, as in Figma: everyone sees the others' cursors and edits as they happen. Sharing is on every plan.
Who can do what
- Owner
- Made the project. Edits, invites, changes anyone's role and removes people.
- Can edit
- Edits the project and invites others.
- Can view
- Opens the project read-only: looks around, selects, sees what the checks find and exports, and can't change anything.
Anyone can leave a project shared with them, from the Share dialog or the Projects page. When someone is removed or leaves, the invitations they sent are withdrawn.
Editing at the same time
There are no locks and nothing to merge: each edit lands in everyone's copy as it is made.
- The faces in the top bar are the people with the project open. Click one to follow their view until you move it yourself, click the canvas, switch view or press Esc.
- On the same view, you see each person's cursor, and what they have selected outlined in their colour with their name.
- Undo and redo are yours: they undo your own edits and leave everyone else's alone.
- Whole-board actions (placing, re-packing and routing the PCB, tidying and cleaning up the schematic) are one at a time. While someone runs one, the others see who is doing what, and the buttons for those are off until it is done.
- Each person's Sakura runs on their own plan.
Version history
The clock button in the top bar opens Version history: the project as it is now, then the copies kept as it was edited, newest first, each with who edited and what changed. Click one to see it, read-only, and Back to current to return.
- A copy is kept every 15 minutes while someone edits, and when editing starts again after 10 minutes or more without an edit. Older copies are thinned out: all of the last day, one an hour for a week, one a day for a month, one a week for a year.
- Name this version (owners and editors) keeps a copy for good, before a big change say.
- Restore this version (owners and editors) makes it the project again for everyone. The current state is kept as a version first, so a restore can itself be undone by restoring that. It clears your undo history.
